Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel was clearly disappointed with his team after a heartbreaking come-from-behind loss on Wednesday night. The Lakers blew a 26-point lead on the road against a hungry Oklahoma City Thunder squad as they ended up being outscored 67-43 in the second half.

After the 123-115 loss, Vogel admitted that his team perhaps got a bit complacent with a huge margin early in the game against a winless OKC squad:

“You can't ever take your foot off the gas against anyone,” the Lakers coach mentioned (via Ryan Ward of Laker Nation).

It's never easy facing a young team with nothing to lose like the Thunder. Coming into this game, OKC was 0-4 as they prepared to host their former MVP in Russell Westbrook in his first game in Oklahoma City wearing the Purple & Gold.

The former MVP had himself a game and notched his first triple-double for the Lakers but it also, unfortunately, came with 10 sloppy turnovers that proved to be quite costly for his team. Despite this being Brodie's sixth career game to notch a triple-double with 10 turnovers, Vogel went on to praise Westbrook for ‘competing his tail off‘ with the court general setting the tone for the Lakers offense.

With LeBron James still sitting out after an injury scare against the Memphis Grizzlies the other day, it's now up to Vogel and the rest of his squad to figure things out as the Lakers continue to have a slow start to the 2021-2022 NBA season.
