It's not a new story – the Los Angeles Lakers aren't where most expected them to be a quarter through the season. Frank Vogel has also been under the microscope as of late.

While there have been a handful of storylines, including the integration of Russell Westbrook, the struggles of Anthony Davis, or the health issues faced by LeBron James and several others, Frank Vogel has also been under the microscope as of late.

The title-winning coach was asked during the pregame press conference before the Lakers-Celtics game on if he was worried about job security and whether or not the topic has been discussed with GM Rob Pelinka.

Via Daniel Starkand:

“No, I'm not,” said the Lakers coach. “No, we haven't discussed it. We're focused on the job. We stay in the moment and focus on the task at hand, trying to win the next game, trying to get some momentum around our season.”

Asked further if he was to blame for LA's slow start, Vogel remained “focused” on the task at hand rather than assessing their current body of work.

“That's not up to me, so I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it. Really just focused on the job.”

LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis have now had the opportunity to play with each other for several games. As the experiment continues to come up with lukewarm results later into the season, changes may be inevitable to try and make it work.
