While the Los Angeles Lakers came into last night's draft without a pick, the team still remained active throughout the evening. Not only were they able to scoop up Iowa State shooting guard Talen Horton-Tucker (via a trade deal with the Orlando Magic) using the 46th overall pick, but also, L.A. have reportedly secured the services of Gonzaga 6-foot-5 guard Zach Norvell on a 2-way contract.

Norvell is coming off of two seasons in the NCAA, where he averaged 13.8 points (on 44.4 percent shooting), 2.3 three-pointers, 4.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.5 turnovers in his two years with Gonzaga. The 21-year-old was seen by some as a potential second-round pick, but when he was left unselected on draft night, the Lakers decided that it was the right time to pounce on the youngster.

While Norvell's 2-way deal does not by any means guarantee that he will be able to crack the Lakers' rotation, he might still be given a chance to prove his worth to the team. L.A. are a bit short on guards right now following the departure of Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart as part of the Anthony Davis trade.

Notably, Norvell is not the only player the Lakers signed on draft night, as they also handed out a couple more deals to two other undrafted prospects. Mississippi State's Aric Holman has reportedly signed a contract with L.A., and so has Devontae Cacok of UNC Wilmington.

It was indeed a busy evening for the Lakers, and it is looking like it's going to be an even busier summer for the new-look team.
