Memphis Grizzlies rookie Ziaire Williams played with Bronny James in high school, but it didn't immediately hit him that he'll be now playing against the father of his former teammate in Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

When Williams was asked about that tidbit, it was clear he didn't realize it at first. What comes after is a reaction of shock and disbelief that he's finally in the NBA, playing against the best of the best.

“Oh man, that's going to be a crazy night, man, for real,” Williams said, per Commercial Appeal. “That's crazy, that really just hit me right now. I'm really going to play LeBron.”

Ziaire Williams played with Bronny James for one year when he was a senior at Sierra Canyon and the son of the Lakers forward was just coming in as a freshman. With that said, it's truly crazy that he'll now get a chance to play LeBron James, whom he definitely had a great relationship with.

“When I first met them, of course I was almost like, starstruck,” Williams added, pertaining to LeBron and Dwyane Wade, whose son Zaire also played with him at Sierra Canyon. “The moment you meet them, you forget honestly who they are because they're so down to Earth and so humble and so laid back.”

Williams was selected by the Grizzlies with the 10th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, and he doesn't have to wait for long to get to play his Uncle LeBron when Memphis face the Lakers.

The 2021-22 season starts in October, and both the Grizzlies and Lakers are set to have multiple meetings by the virtue of being in the same conference. Ziaire better be ready.
