Atlanta Hawks head coach Lloyd Pierce says Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is “probably the greatest athlete we've ever seen.”

The Hawks fell to the Lakers on Sunday by a final score of 122-101. LeBron finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and 12 assists in the win.

“A well-conditioned athlete, probably the greatest athlete we’ve ever seen,” Pierce said of James, via Sarah K. Spencer of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “At the top of his game. I don’t care how old he is. He’s at the top of his game right now.”

It’s hard to disagree with Pierce on this one. LeBron is 6-foot-8 and 250 pounds. We will never see any basketball player — maybe any athlete in general — built like The King ever again. He had to be made in a lab somewhere because the things LeBron does on a nightly basis are just out of this world.

On the season for the Lakers, James is averaging 25.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game. The four-time MVP and three-time champion is shooting 49.0 percent from the field, 34.2 percent from beyond the arc and 71.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers are 11-2. LeBron and Anthony Davis are on a mission to deliver banner No. 17 to the Purple and Gold franchise this season. James looks fresher than usual since he missed the playoffs last season. That spells trouble for the entire league.
