The Los Angeles Lakers were widely expected to win Game 5 of the 2020 NBA Finals against the Miami Heat since they were up 3-1 and wearing their Black Mamba jerseys.

However, the Heat spoiled the Lakers' undefeated record in the Kobe Bryant-inspired jersey by winning Game 5 by three points to extend the series to Game 6.

After the big Game 5 win, Heat forward Jae Crowder told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports that he was getting sick and tired of people talking about how the Lakers were undefeated in the Black Mamba jerseys.

“You’re hearing how they’re putting the black jerseys on and sh– and how they haven’t lost a game in those and people start talking about that. That is motivation, and it's always going to get under your skin a little bit,” Heat forward Jae Crowder told Yahoo Sports after Miami spoiled L.A.’s celebration plans with a 111-108 victory.

“You obviously funnel that in the right direction and use it as motivation and it definitely helped tonight.”

The Lakers are still favored to win the Finals against the Heat. But if Miami wins Game 6 to force a Game 7, the odds could switch to the Heat's favor since they'll have all the momentum going and the Lakers will have immense pressure on their shoulders.

Crowder has been playing his usual stellar defense and hitting threes for the Heat against the Lakers. However, this Finals series has been all about Jimmy Butler, who recorded his second triple-double of the series in Game 5.

If the Heat erase a 3-1 series deficit against the Lakers, Butler will undoubtedly win his first Finals MVP award.

Game 6 between the Heat and Lakers is set for Sunday. It's going to be fascinating to see how that game turns out.
