Don’t look now, Isaiah Thomas, but two weeks into your Los Angeles Lakers career and you are about to appear in an episode of Shaquille O’Neal’s gag reels after embarrassing yourself with a horrible play versus the Atlanta Hawks. Then again, even the best players sometimes step on a banana peel.

One of the Lakers’ newest recruits just made a hilarious pass that ended up in the hands of the opponent, something that a former star of the franchise will no doubt feature in his latest episode of Shaqtin’ A Fool.

During a second-quarter play with the ball in his hands, Thomas drove past the Hawks defense and stopped just inside the free-throw line. He was caught with very few options as the Hawks’ Isaiah Taylor draped himself all over him.

Trying to avoid a three-second violation, Thomas whipped a no-look pass over his left shoulder to Kyle Kuzma. The rookie was too far from the pass which Mike Muscala intercepted.

Looking at the play, there’s a good chance that it will make it as a candidate to Shaqtin’ A Fool’s worst passes of the year.

Isaiah Thomas, Lakers

Isaiah Thomas came back from an injury that sidelined him for much of the year. He played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for a month before he was traded to the Lakers along with Channing Frye and a 2018 first-round draft pick in exchange for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance, Jr.

In his first game in L.A. versus the Dallas Mavericks, Thomas scored his second-highest point total of the season with 22. He also scored 17 points in back-to-back games against the Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings two weeks later.
