Rajon Rondo had some choice words earlier in the season when asked about Isaiah Thomas tribute video in Boston.

According to Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, Rondo didn't like that Thomas wanted a video tribute after a couple seasons with the Celtics.

Rajon Rondo was irked to hear that the Celtics would honor Isaiah Thomas on any night. “What has he done?” Rondo asked. Told that he led the Celtics to the conference finals last year, Rondo remarked, “Oh, that’s what we celebrate around here?”

He went on to say:

More Rondo on IT: “This is the Boston Celtics. This isn’t the Phoenix Suns, no disrespect to any other organization, but you don’t hang conference titles. Do we hang going to the conference finals? What do we hang here?”Title banners, Rondo was told. “OK, cool,” Rondo said.

Those comments didn't go well with Thomas, and the two got into words during Wednesday nights game. They both were given double technicals and immediately ejected. Some believe the ejections weren't warranted, and the Lakers were not very happy with it.

According to Bill Oram of the Southern California News Group:

Luke Walton said Rob Pelinka reached out to the league today about the two technicals that earned Isaiah Thomas an ejection last night in New Orleans. IT said last night he believes they should be rescinded.

A technical foul in the NBA results in a fine of $2,000 dollars so if he is able to get the technicals rescinded that would save Thomas $4,000.

Although that isn't a lot of money for an NBA player, sometimes it's more important for the player that the league comes out and says that they were wrong, and apologize for a wrong call.
