After disappointing performances at the Las Vegas Summer League, Ivica Zubac returned to form as he finished with nine points, five rebounds, and two blocks against the Minnesota Timberwolves to begin preseason. With the Los Angeles Lakers trading for Brook Lopez and signing Andrew Bogut during the offseason, there is a grand opportunity for Zubac to learn from them on both ends of the court.

Following practice, Zubac discussed how the one-time All-Star can help him according to Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints:

After attempting just 31 three-pointers in his first eight seasons with the New Jersey/Brooklyn Nets, Lopez attempted 387 of them this past season, connecting on 34.7 percent. As the game continues to evolve, there is not a better offensive center for Zubac to learn from than Lopez, who also has a solid post game.

While Lopez will be the starter for head coach Luke Walton, it will be interesting to see who wins the backup center position. As Bogut has proven himself to be a rim protector throughout his career, Zubac's development in his sophomore season is just as important. Regardless of what direction Walton chooses to go in, the Lakers have added two veterans who will help Zubac and Thomas Bryant.
