Kevin Durant had made amends with Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy during the second run of The Bill Simmons Podcast that aired last Monday, but not before taking Big Game James' spot in an imaginary re-designed Showtime Lakers roster.

The Golden State Warriors forward claimed he would swap out the Hall of Famer for himself, to be able to play next to Magic Johnson and company, if he could play for any historical team.

It didn't take long for TMZ Sports to relay the information to Worthy and ask him for his thoughts.

“Durant has always been one of my favorite players and that's it,” said Worthy initially. “I don't pay attention to the nonsense.”

Asked in depth about Durant's decision to take him out of his rightful place in the legendary Lakers team, Worthy finally gave in.

“I think it's ludicrous,” he said. “I don't know how he came to that conclusion, but I disagree.”

“I don't really pay attention to any of the millennial players and their thoughts about our time. They just need to hang on to what they got now and move forward. Just don't include us, because it's a different era.”

While this is purely imaginary and Worthy was kind enough to entertain the notion, there was much that wasn't said in context. Johnson is one of Durant's favorite players and he's constantly dreamed of playing next to him — making it fitting to take Worthy's small forward spot, the same position that he's played through nine of his 10 years in the league.
