The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to repeat as NBA champions in the 2020-21 season, and they'll have a familiar face back. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Jared Dudley has agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million deal to remain with the Purple and Gold for another season.

Dudley signed with the Lakers in free agency ahead of the 2019-20 season, assuming a role as a leader in the locker room. While Dudley didn't play much in his first year in Los Angeles, he was a key member of the roster that brought experience to the team.

In the 45 games that he was active in, while playing a career-low 8.1 minutes per game, Dudley averaged a career-worst 1.5 points and 1.2 rebound per game for the Lakers. Again, when Los Angeles signed him, they understood that he was going to have a vital role that wasn't visible in the box score.

Throughout the offseason, the Lakers have made a few notable moves, altering the makeup of their roster. Los Angeles first acquired Dennis Schroder in a trade involving Danny Green.

Along with the massive trade for Schroder, the Lakers were also able to sign Wesley Matthews, Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol in free agency. Now, Jared Dudley will be running it back with Los Angeles, hoping to help them defend their NBA title.

Some people were wondering what the Lakers could conjure up in the offseason with a limited amount of money. Given the circumstances, Los Angeles has had an extremely successful offseason and are poised to be the favorites in the Western Conference.
