For Los Angeles Lakers veteran Jared Dudley, the coronavirus test is the “most uncomfortable 10 seconds of his life.”

Via Twitter, a fan asked Dudley how painful the test was.

The question came in a few minutes before news broke out that Los Angeles is now offering free COVID-19 testing to all residents.

The Lakers forward has been one of the most vocal NBA players amid the coronavirus pandemic which has forced the 2019-20 season to be suspended indefinitely. It's been almost two months since the basketball fans last saw some action.

But the league has a tentative plan to allow some teams to re-open their practice facilities as soon as May 8. This is granted that it is legal in their state. In a statement, the NBA said:

“The potential rules changes would allow teams to make their practice facilities available for use by the team’s players for workouts or treatment on a voluntary, individual basis if the team’s facility is in a city that is no longer subject to a government restriction. For any team that, due to a government restriction, is prohibited from making its facility available for use by the team’s players, the league will work with the team to identify alternatives.”

Dudley tagged this proposition “very tricky” since not all states have relaxed their stay-at-home restrictions, especially those most hit by the virus. For Calfornia, the stay-at-home order will not be lifted until May 15.

While Dudley's concern seems to be the potential advantage gained by teams, there are some who are most concerned about the health of the Lakers staff and the general public.

From the looks of it, the resumption of the 2019-20 season still hangs in the balance.
