Center Tyson Chandler made a game-saving block in the dying seconds of the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks on Monday. His rejection of rookie sensation Trae Young’s layup gave the Lakers a 107-106 win in dramatic fashion.

While everyone has been singing Chandler’s praises, one fan criticized the big man for not playing as hard when he was with the Phoenix Suns. Jared Dudley, however, was quick to defend his former teammate:

The fan, a Suns follower, was incensed with Chandler’s seeming lack of passion when he was playing in Phoenix, and the fact that the 7-foot-1 center is displaying much of it in a Lakers uniform infuriated him even more. In his defense, Dudley said it’s not Chandler’s fault because the culture surrounding both teams is different.

Dudley was initially replying to a tweet from NBC's Kurt Helin about Chandler being a good pickup for the Lakers. That’s when the Suns fan decided to engage the Brooklyn Nets forward in an argument:

Dudley and Chandler were teammates for two seasons in the Valley of the Sun until both moved on to different teams this season.

Tyson Chandler has turned the Lakers’ fortunes around since he was picked up last week after being bought out by the Suns. Since then, the Lakers have reeled off three straight wins, with the latest coming against the 3-10 Hawks. Los Angeles is now a game above .500 and is tied with the Sacramento Kings for eighth place in the Western Conference, with both teams sporting identical 7-6 records.
