When the Los Angeles Lakers hired Jason Kidd to be one of head coach Frank Vogel's assistants, many people began to speculate that Kidd would eventually take Vogel's job if the team got off to a slow start this season.

Because Lakers superstar LeBron James has a previous relationship with Kidd, there was this narrative going around LeBron would have a better rapport with Kidd and that it would lead to Vogel getting fired and Kidd being promoted to head coach of the Lakers.

With the Lakers opening their season on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers, Kidd took to Twitter to express his excitement by posting a team photo. However, Kidd left out Vogel, and now he's getting called out for it in his Twitter mentions:

Kidd is one of the best point guards in NBA history. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. The Lakers believe having Kidd, James and Rajon Rondo all in one locker will pay dividends down the line.

LeBron, Rondo and Kidd are three of the smartest basketball minds on the planet.

After Kidd’s playing career ended, he coached the Brooklyn Nets for one season and the Milwaukee Bucks for three and a half seasons. He went 44-38 with the Nets and 139-152 with the Bucks.
