JaVale McGee is interested in coming back to the Los Angeles Lakers next season.
McGee becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. The veteran big man signed a one-year, $2.4 million deal with the Lakers last offseason.
JaVale McGee on if he'd like to return to the Lakers: "Yeah, definitely. The opportunity to come back would definitely be something that I'm highly interested in, but you know the NBA is a business, so you never know what can happen. You just never know."

JaVale McGee: "I just feel like I really showed that I can be a starter in this league and I can play extended minutes and I can be a leader on the floor and off the floor."

JaVale McGee has a pretty good season for the Lakers. The 31-year-old appeared in 75 games and averaged 12.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per contest while shooting 62.4 percent from the field and 63.2 percent from the free-throw line.
McGee recorded 14 double-doubles. He was third in the league in field goal percentage and fifth in total blocks with 148.
The Lakers are expected to try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans star power forward Anthony Davis this summer after they weren't able to get him at the February trade deadline. Los Angeles traded Ivica Zubac to the LA Clippers because McGee reportedly didn't want to continue to share minutes with the youngster.
McGee is no longer the headliner of Shaquille O'Neal's show Shaqtin' a Fool. After winning two championships with the Golden State Warriors, the high-flyer has matured on and off the court and turned himself into a valuable player.
It will be interesting to see what type of free agent market McGee has this summer. He probably will get a pay raise from the $2.4 million he made this year.
