NBA legend Dwyane Wade is a part-owner of the Utah Jazz, but he might have forgotten that when he complimented Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James on Twitter.

LeBron was locked in for the Lakers right at the opening tip of their 2021-22 season opener against the Golden State Warriors. In fact, King James scored 18 at the half to break the record for the most points scored in season openers.

Wade, who was tuned in during the game, couldn't help but praise James for his performance. They were good friends, and it's not the first time the Miami Heat legend has spoken in admiration of the Lakers forward.

The problem is: Dwyane Wade is no longer just a former player or a friend of LeBron James. He's also a part-owner of an NBA franchise, which means his comments can be considered tampering.

Remember when Magic Johnson–then president of the Lakers–simply praised Giannis Antetokounmpo and spoke about their similarities? Well, the NBA icon was fined $50,000 for that.

While fans are probably not making a big deal out of it, it will be interesting to see what the NBA will do. Wade might get off with a warning, especially since his comments are not that deep and simply describing LeBron's play. However, he sure can't simply just tweet to his good friend moving forward.

But hey, LeBron definitely appeared to be in midseason form after recording 34 points, 11 rebounds and five assists in the 121-114 loss to the Dubs.
