Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss asked for patience from fans of the Purple and Gold and vowed that ‘there will be a lot of changes' in the next few months.

In an interview with Arash Markazi of the LA Times before the NBA Awards night, Buss sent out a message to the Lakers faithful and emphasized that they won't stop ‘until we're all proud.'

“There will be a lot of changes. Lakers fans, be patient,” Buss said. “We’re going to get there. We’re not going to stop until we’re all proud.”

The biggest change so far is the blockbuster trade featuring Anthony Davis. In exchange for the six-time All-Star, the Lakers sent Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round draft picks, including the Lakers' 2019 fourth pick to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Now, the Lakers are on the hunt for players who can smoothly co-exist with Davis and LeBron James. Rumors have pointed to D'Angelo Russell — a former Laker whose point guard spot with the Brooklyn Nets might go to Kyrie Irving. Other speculations, meanwhile, believe that LA is looking to add reliable role players instead of adding that one elite-caliber star.

Either way, Buss and general manager Rob Pelinka have a ton to work on in the offseason. Buss has placed full confidence in Pelinka to get the job done — sealing the Davis trade was one big check mark. Let's see if they can follow through with another big one.
