JJ Redick recently had a very interesting conversation with ESPN host Stephen A. Smith about the fear factor brought about by Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. While Smith stated that he does not believe LeBron instills fear in his opponents, Redick was having none of it as he explained why he himself feared James whenever he faced him on the basketball court.

Redick isn't done just yet. The retired NBA sharpshooter has now doubled down on his claim as he hilariously revealed the exact moment he realized that LeBron was a man to be feared (h/t Hoop Central on Twitter):

Redick clearly isn't buying the no-fear narrative about LeBron. He even draws from his own personal experience to make his case. Redick delivers his story in a rather hilarious manner, but there was definitely nothing funny about that incident when it happened. It's easy to almost imagine Redick's life flashing before his eyes as he saw a 200-pound freight train about to run him over.

All this is in the context of LeBron's recent run-in with Detroit Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart. Much has been made about how Stewart showed no fear towards and very little respect for the Lakers superstar as he repeatedly tried to charge at him after sustaining a bloody eye. In Redick's mind, however, he just doesn't understand how people can say that LeBron is not feared in the NBA.
