Josh Hart is taking his game to the next level. He just hopes that people will see the stark improvement in his game. The Los Angeles Lakers guard revealed that he's been working on two specific skills this summer: his dribbles and shooting off the dribble.

He is hoping that people will notice the work he has put into honing these skills:

“Probably my handle,” Hart told Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN. “My ability to shoot off the dribble. Those are the two main things that I have really been working on the last several months. Hopefully guys see that and say, ‘Oh man, JHart is really working.'”

Hart was recently named Summer League MVP — a tangible sign of his improvement. Coming into their championship duel with the Portland Trail Blazers, the 23-year-old is averaging 24.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in six games.

In the coming season, Hart is expected to take on the role of a knockdown shooter. With LeBron James in the roster — a force who collapses defenses on the daily — Hart will be open on numerous occasions. Along with James, Rajon Rondo — also an innate playmaker — will be looking for the open guy. Last season, he shot 46.9 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from downtown — pretty decent shooting statistics for a rookie.

Hart knows the realities as he enters his second season. His new teammates are playmakers. And he's up and ready for the challenge:

“I think I can knock down shots. And when those guys find me when I am open, I know we have unselfish guys, my job is to knock them down.”
