New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Josh Hart says the Los Angeles Lakers organization was depressing.

Hart was on his podcast with Lonzo Ball and suggested that the environment with the Lakers was depressing last season:

The Lakers traded Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and multiple draft picks to the Pelicans for Anthony Davis this summer. Los Angeles was a walking disaster last season after superstar LeBron James suffered a serious groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors.

James missed 17 consecutive games and the Lakers went 6-11 during that stretch, falling out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference.

The Davis trade rumors essentially broke up the Lakers locker room since every player on the team knew James was the only player untouchable in Davis trade talks. Magic Johnson resigning from his post in an impromptu press conference near the end of the season confirmed there was dysfunction all around the Purple and Gold last season.

Hart, Ball and Ingram are looking forward to their fresh starts with the Pelicans. Hart actually told Pelicans GM David Griffin not to trade him after acquiring him from the Lakers because he really wanted to play for New Orleans.

It's safe to say Ball, Hart and Ingram will be extra motivated to beat the Lakers next season when the Pelicans come to the Staples Center.
