Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James wore a MAGA parody hat on Tuesday before the team's first playoff game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It was assumed the hats were James' idea since he has a well-documented beef with President Donald Trump.

However, according to Lakers center JaVale McGee, JR Smith brought the hats for the team to wear, per Christian Rivas of SB Nation.

The hat reads, “Make America Arrest The Cops Who Killed Breonna Taylor.” The phrase “Great Again” is crossed out.

The Lakers may have struggled against the Blazers in Game 1, but LeBron James and Co. made a strong statement with their garment. Kudos to JR Smith for bringing the hats.

Los Angeles will look to even up the series with the Blazers in Game 2 on Thursday. James finished with 23 points, 17 rebounds and 16 assists in Game 1, all while shooting 9-of-20 from the field, 1-of-5 from beyond the arc and 4-of-7 from the free-throw line.

Both James and Anthony Davis missed two free-throws in a row late in the game which would have given the Lakers the lead.

Smith, meanwhile, didn't play in Game 1. Some LA fans want head coach Frank Vogel to play Smith or Dion Waiters instead of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who was awful in the opening match.
