Including the playoffs, JR Smith appeared in 16 games for the 2019-20 Los Angeles Lakers after signing with the team during the hiatus.
Smith averaged 2.8 points in 13.0 minutes per game in the seeding round and scored 20 points across 10 postseason cameos.
Nevertheless, Smith earned a ring for his participation on the championship-winning squad, marking the second title of Smith's career. The veteran guard played a major role on the 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers, starting all 21 playoff games and averaging 11.5 points per game.
Smith, a free agent, was unable to be present at the team's ring ceremony on Tuesday night, so the Lakers sent him his championship ring. J.R. revealed that he received the jewelry by posting a picture of his dad wearing both the '16 Cavs and '20 Lakers rings.
“Got the Game from him so i brought the RINGS back to HIM! Thanks OG LOVE YOU”, Smith captioned.

Dion Waiters, who also signed with the L.A. prior to the bubble, posted a video on Instagram showing him opening his ring box.

The Lakers organization was nice enough to send franchise legend Magic Johnson a ring, as well.
“Cookie and I are so blessed to receive our championship rings! Thank you to Laker owner @JeanieBuss, the Laker players and especially @KingJames because he told me he was going to bring a championship to Laker Nation,” the Hall of Famer wrote. “This is my 11th NBA Championship ring!”
At the ring ceremony, Lakers owner Jeanie Buss personally shouted out the players who were on the team last season that are no longer with the team, including Smith, Dion Waiters, Avery Bradley, Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, Troy Daniels, and DeMarcus Cousin.
