Former NBA player Kendrick Perkins wants the Los Angeles Lakers to bring back Dwight Howard.

Howard has been linked to a lot of Lakers rumors following the unfortunate ACL injury suffered by DeMarcus Cousins. Boogie is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season due to the injury, forcing the Purple and Gold to look for a possible replacement who can share the minutes at center with JaVale McGee.

Signing Howard to a short-term deal will be ideal for the Lakers, especially since the three-time Defensive Player of the Year can still score and defend the rim at a high level. It's also a good sign for the team that Howard is fully healthy after playing in only nine games with the washington Wizards last season.

The Memphis Grizzlies recently allowed the Lakers to speak with Dwight's camp, so it shouldn't be long before the team makes a decision. Memphis is reportedly expected to release Howard, which could very well make it easier for Los Angeles to get the big man.

Howard averaged 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds in the short time he was with the Wizards. If he can stay healthy, he'll certainly be an impactful player for the Lakers. To recall, Dwight played for the team in the 2012-13 season, but it was a rather forgettable stint as the eight-time All-Star never really meshed well with Kobe Bryant.
