With the greatness he showed throughout his legendary NBA career, Kobe Bryant has earned the honor of being widely recognized as one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball.

That said, it’s very interesting to know who he thinks are the ones who deserve to be named in his all-time starting five. The Los Angeles Lakers legend answered that question recently and his choices were hard to argue.

Kobe Bryant appeared on Hollywood Reporter‘s “Awards Chatter” podcast, where he said that Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Hakeem Olajuwon comprises his list.

“Who else would fill out the starting lineup of the greatest basketball team ever?”

“Well, I gotta go with my guys. Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Bill Russell, and Hakeem Olajuwon. Those are my guys.”

It's very interesting that he did not choose any current player, and that all five aforementioned greats are all from the 1990s and earlier. It is also worth noting that the Lakers great did not include himself, which goes to show that Bryant remains humble, despite all the awards and honors he received in his illustrious career.

There may be some who believe that there are other players who should be included in the all-time starting five of Bryant, but it will also be very difficult to contest his choices, especially with 26 titles between them, among other career achievements.
