Former Los Angeles Lakers player Pau Gasol still has a tight relationship with Kobe Bryant's family after the tragic helicopter accident back in late January involving Kobe and Gianna. The Spanish big man enjoyed Halloween festivities together with Vanessa Bryant and her daughters.

“Uncle Pau” has spent a lot of time with Kobe's family this year in the wake of his former Lakers teammate's tragic death. Gasol and Bryant donned Lakers colors together from 2008 to 2014. Their partnership brought plenty of success, with three consecutive NBA Finals appearances and two titles in 2009 and 2010.

Gasol's partnership with Kobe ended when he chose to leave Los Angeles to become a veteran journeyman in the league. He packed his bags to play for the Chicago Bulls for two years and then suited up for the San Antonio Spurs for two-plus seasons. He last played for the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2019, playing three games before sustaining a season-ending ankle injury. In July 2019, he was signed by the Portland Trail Blazers but never had an appearance for the team.

On the other hand, Bryant stayed in the City of Angels and finished his 20-year playing career with the Lakers in 2016. Even with the late Lakers legend now gone, Gasol remains indebted for their friendship and is paying it forward to Bryant's family.
