We recently saw the first image of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant in the next-gen edition of NBA 2K21. Now, we're seeing just another way how the latest edition of this game is paying homage to Bryant.

A new game mode called “The City” features a special Kobe court:

As shown above, a huge mural of Kobe from the 2010 title celebration is on a wall. The Philadelphia native has long been a staple in the NBA 2K franchise due to him being one of the most iconic and recognizable players in the league.

Kobe's illustrious 20-year career saw him earn 18 All-Star appearances, four All-Star Game MVPs, a league MVP honor, two Finals MVPs, and five championship titles to become a Lakers legend.

He previously served as a cover athlete for Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside, NBA Courtside 2: Featuring Kobe Bryant, NBA Courtside 2002, NBA 3 on 3 Featuring Kobe Bryant, NBA 07 featuring The Life Vol. 2, NBA 09: The Inside, NBA 2K10,  and NBA 2K17 in both Legend Edition and in Legend Edition Gold.

The Lakers legend will grace the cover of NBA 2K21 in its Mamba Forever Edition. It was a gesture made by the franchise in order to honor him in the year of his passing back in January 2020.

The NBA 2K franchise will continue to pay tribute to Kobe Bryant in order to immortalize his legacy and ensure that the next generation of hoopers will get to remember his immense contributions to the game of basketball.
