More than 12 years ago, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant had one of the best individual performances in NBA history by recording the second highest points scored by a player in a single game, with 81 against the Toronto Raptors.

His main defender on that one unforgettable night was Jalen Rose, who received a lot of criticism for how he defended Bryant, as The Black Mamba did not appear to be worried about the 2000 Most Improved Player fronting him.

Recently, the two discussed Bryant's epic performance and how he was able to pull it off. The 39-year-old talked about remaining focused throughout the game as he was not thinking about anything around him except playing well that time.

Bryant also added that he approaches every game differently, and he was just locked it against the Raptors that night.

Bryant stat line was incredible, recording 81 points, on 28-of-46 shooting from the field, 18-of-20 from the free throw line, to go along with six rebounds, two assists, three steals, and a blocked shot. It was a treat for those who watched it live, as the crowd inside Staples Center could not believe what they witnessed. Bryant's career game came as a surprise as nobody expected him to drop that many points in a game thought of as just an ordinary regular season matchup.

The 81-point game from Bryant further cemented his legacy as one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball. The Lakers legend retired after the 2015-16 season, having won almost all awards the league has to offer, and will no doubt be a future Hall of Famer once he becomes eligible to be enshrined.
