Danny Green used to guard Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant all the time back when he was on the San Antonio Spurs, so he knows firsthand how difficult it was to stop the Black Mamba.

During an interview with Omar Raja of ESPN, the Lakers sharpshooter talked about Bryant's elite scoring ability and how the Lakers icon made every defender “so nervous.”

“I think that's part of why he was able to score,” Danny Green said about Kobe Bryant. “His moves work so well because he was patient, slow at his own pace. But people that are guarding him are so nervous, so jacked up and they're ready and every move he makes, we're going for it.

“Every pump fake, he knows young guys are trying to block his shot, so he's going to use that against you.”

The tragic passing of Bryant is still on Green and the rest of the Lakers players' minds, especially since there are no NBA games on at the moment.

Green and the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19. This year's Purple and Gold squad had a good shot of winning the title. Interestingly, the last LA team to win it all was the 2010 club led by Kobe and Pau Gasol.

Bryant finished his Lakers career with averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists. He was a five-time NBA champion and two-time Finals MVP.
