The Chicago Sky clinched their first WNBA title in franchise history on Sunday following a huge Game 4 win over Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury. Two-time league MVP Candace Parker put forth an epic performance in one of the most important games of her life, and as it turns out, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant played a key role in Parker's success.

Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late, great Lakers icon, recently took to Instagram to congratulate Parker on her second career title. Vanessa also revealed in her post that the Sky star actually called her before the game to ask for what they're referring to as ā€œKobeismā€:

Apparently, Candace Parker, like many of us, draws inspiration from Kobe Bryant. So much so, that she even reached out to Vanessa moments before her title-winning performance for the Sky. This time around, however, Vanessa told her to get her inspiration from Gianna.

After the title win, Parker herself expressed her gratitude to the family of the fallen Lakers icon. She also paid tribute to the Black Mamba by recreating Kobe's iconic post-championship photo:

This is yet another testament to the legacy of Kobe Bryant. The Lakers icon is one of the greatest to have ever held a basketball. However, it comes as no surprise that the effect of his life's work goes far beyond the four corners of the court.
