Former Los Angeles Lakers big man Samaki Walker almost fought superstar shooting guard Kobe Bryant during the Black Mamba's younger years.

Fortunately for everyone involved, Bryant and Walker wound up not fighting despite Walker telling Bryant to get off the bus so they could tussle.

According to New York Times best-selling author Jeff Pearlman, it all started after Bryant won a shootaround bet with the Lakers and was asking Walker for his $100. Walker, though, said he would get it to Bryant another day, something the Lakers legend wasn't pleased with.

Bryant slapped Walker across the face on the bus and that's when Walker told Lakers head coach Phil Jackson to stop the bus so he could fight Kobe. The five-time champion, though, opted not to get off the bus.

Later in the day, Bryant ended up calling Walker and left a heartfelt message where he admitted he went too far with his slap.

This is truly an incredible story involving Kobe Bryant. Tales like this will certainly keep the Lakers icon's legacy and spirit alive despite Bryant no longer being with us.

Bryant, arguably the best player in Lakers history, has both of his jerseys (Nos. 8 and 24) retired by the organization. There will never be another Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles or in the NBA for that matter.

This year's Lakers, led by All-Stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis, are eager to win the title at Walt Disney World for Kobe and Gigi Bryant.
