The Philadelphia Eagles won an ugly game of football to kick off their Super Bowl defense on Thursday against the Atlanta Falcons, 18-12, but Kobe Bryant was still left impressed of Nick Foles and company. Here’s the Los Angeles Lakers great reacting to the Eagles’ victory.

It has never been a secret that Bryant loves his Eagles, and his fondness of the team has gotten into a higher level ever since Philly took down the New England Patriots for the city’s first Super Bowl win last February. He even took to social media to motivate the Eagles ahead of that clash with Tom Brady's group.

Against the Falcons, the Eagles relied on their stiff defense that limited Atlanta to convert just once on five red-zone chances. The Falcons were also held to only 74 rushing yards and though Matt Ryan passed for 251 yards, it took him 43 passes to reach that number. He was also sacked four times for a loss of 26 yards. The Eagles, however, had a difficult time containing Falcons receiver Julio Jones who exploded for 169 receiving yards on 10 receptions.

As for the Eagles, they leaned on Jay Ajayi’s exploits from the backfield, as the running back rushed for 62 yards and rumbled his way to a pair of touchdowns on 15 carries.

Kobe Bryant can see his 1-0 Eagles play again next week, when Philly hits the road for its first game away from home against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
