Former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant has added his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick's new ad campaign with Nike via Twitter.

The NFL free agent has signed a deal to be one of the faces of Nike's 30th anniversary “Just Do It” marketing campaign. Although the company has received backlash for the agreement with Colin Kaepernick, Bryant is one of many high-profile celebrities to voice their support for both Nike and the unemployed quarterback.

Kaepernick has filed a lawsuit against the NFL that alleges that league owners colluded to deny him a chance to play in the NFL. He recently won a victory in court when the arbitrator ruled that his case had enough evidence to go to trial, and refused the league's request to throw the case out.

In an interview with Jemele Hill of The Undefeated in February, Bryant acknowledged that he would have also taken part in the national anthem protests that Kaepernick started in 2016.

“Yeah, I would have participated in it, for sure,” Bryant told Hill. “I'm sure I would have gotten some flak for it. That's fine. I think that Colin's message was a very simple one. It was police brutality needs to stop; we need to take a look at that.”

The 18-time NBA All-Star who won five NBA titles with the Lakers has a long relationship with Nike. When Kobe Bryant was accused of sexual assault in 2003, Nike was one of the few companies which did not terminate their endorsement contract with the future Hall of Famer.
