Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant wanted his idol, Michael Jordan, or Phil Jackson to induct him into the Hall of Fame.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced in December the list of eligible candidates for the Class of 2020. Bryant was on the list and would have given a great speech had he not tragically passed away on Sunday in a helicopter crash.

During an interview with Complex back in 2017, Bryant talked about having Jordan or Jackson induct him into the Hall of Fame:

“Wow, that’s a great question. In terms of who might present, for me it’s two people: Michael Jordan or Phil Jackson. They’ve been the greatest mentors, not only in my career as an athlete, but also as a person. And what I might say is just a lot of thank yous. ‘Cause I’ve had a lotta help along the way. A lotta lotta help.”

In 1,346 career games for the Lakers, Bryant cemented himself as the greatest Laker of all-time. He holds career averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

Bryant won five championships with Jackson. He's believed to be the closest thing we will ever see to Jordan ever again since he basically patterned his entire game from MJ.
