The NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers lost one of its greatest players on Sunday morning. It was reported that Kobe Bryant had passed away in a tragic helicopter crash. The crash also took the lives of his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people.

Bryant was a bona fide icon in the sports world at large. His influence spread far and wide across innumerable people all over the world. One person that had an idea on how to honor Kobe’s legacy is Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray. Murray actually recommended that Bryant’s signature fadeaway jumper be the new logo.

The call to have the NBA’s logo changed is one that has flared up on and off in recent years. After the untimely death of Bryant, a Change.org petition aimed at changing the logo to one of the legend himself has amassed over 965,000 signatures since Sunday.

The NBA has already announced that it will enshrine Bryant into the Hall of Fame this year. It's due to his all-around impact on basketball in the NBA, in the Olympics and later on as a coach of his beloved departed daughter Gigi.

The Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers have already postponed their game for Tuesday, and almost every team that played on Sunday took 8- or 24-second violations to start the game in order to honor the two numbers Kobe wore.

No one will forget his impact, but according to Murray, changing the logo to Kobe’s signature move would be the most powerful decision the NBA could make.
