The Los Angeles Lakers recently gave fans an early Christmas gift by paying homage to one of the best players in NBA history in the legendary Kobe Bryant. To no surprise, the Lakers revealed not one both of his No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys amongst their all-time franchise greats at Staples Center.

One of the best parts about Bryant's retirement ceremony is all of the countless memories he had provided through the span of two decades that were brought back to light. Among the most notable had to be the time when he had some choice words for his team's lackluster performance in practice back in December of 2014-15 NBA season via Lakers Nation:

Bryant is known as arguably the fiercest competitor in the history of the league. While his competitive prowess on the court was well noted, he brought that same approach to practice.

Needless to say, fans got a firsthand look at what it was like to go face-to-face with the five-time champ. Unfortunately, it came at the demise of then-Lakers Jeremy Lin and Nick Young.

It is amazing to see Bryant compete with the same grit he had when he first entered the league nearly 20 years before that. That said, it is one of the few reasons why he will be forever immortalized as the greatest Laker ever.
