Los Angeles Lakers stud Kyle Kuzma tried to submit his own entry for layup of the season (no, that's not an official award handed out by the NBA) late in the third period of LA's Game 3 matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Kuzma tried to pull off a 360, no-scope layup, which he actually almost made:

Despite not getting the deuce, Kuzma was able to draw the foul during the fastbreak play. Kuzma had a quiet game against Portland, finishing with just seven points, six rebounds, and a steal in 23 minutes off the Lakers bench. The 25-year-old has not exactly been lighting it up for LA in this series, averaging just 9.3 points in 25 minutes per contest. Despite the modest output, though, Kuzma is still an undeniably crucial piece for the Lakers and their title hopes this season.

Kyle Kuzma did his bit in this pivotal win for the Lakers, as they defeated Portland, 116-108. This victory gives LA a 2-1 advantage in the series, and they have now reestablished their status as the heavy favorites to come out of this first-round matchup.

There is no doubt, however, that the Blazers won't be going out without a fight. Despite losing Game 3, they'll make sure that this series still has a long way to go. Game 4 is scheduled for Monday, and Portland will definitely be gunning to level the series with a win. A loss from them puts them in a precarious situation with just one defeat away from a disappointing first-round exit.
