For Kyle Kuzma, Los Angeles Lakers teammate LeBron James is the Most Valuable Player of the NBA, claiming that everyone is bearing witness to another historic season for The King.

Seconds after hitting the dagger in their 112-103 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, Kuzma crowned James as he headed to the Lakers bench. James put up 28 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

Right after the crucial basket, the crowd at Staples Center chanted MVP repeatedly.

For a better part of the year, critics have placed James second in the MVP race behind Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. But for the past few weeks, some analysts have been making a case that it is James who deserves to be crowned MVP.

After all, while the Bucks hold the best record in the league, they are in the relatively ‘weaker' conference. The Lakers, meanwhile, are at the top of the standings in the mighty West. At year 17, James is still proving that whatever jersey he's donning, they're bound to be a contender. He has done it with his first and second stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat, and now with the Lakers.

The MVP talks involving James are entering an all-time high especially since the Lakers notched back-to-back wins over contending teams — the Bucks and the Clippers.

After the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, the Lakers will again face up with the West's elite: the Houston Rockets on Thursday, the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, and the Utah Jazz on Monday and Wednesday. This may be the Lakers' toughest stretch in the last 19 games.
