The Los Angeles Lakers expect to get forward Kyle Kuzma back for Friday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder after leaving the game between the two teams on Tuesday with an abrasion to his right eye, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Kuzma left the Lakers' Tuesday win over the Thunder early after taking an elbow from Darius Bazley. He would have been able to return if they'd needed him, but they chose to be cautious with him.

The third-year forward will travel with the team to OKC and practice Thursday before suiting up to play on Friday, as the Lakers ride a five-game win streak into Chesapeake Energy Arena after sweeping a four-game home stand.

Kuzma is averaging 13.1 points and 3.9 rebounds through 10 games this season after coming off an ankle injury that nagged him all summer long after injuring himself as part of one of the last Team USA practices. The 6-foot-9 forward was the last cut for Gregg Popovich's squad and was forced to miss all of training camp, waiting to make his debut until Nov. 1.

The 24-year-old has been slowly gearing into shape this season, though he has reached the 30-minute mark once last week, still regaining his footing after missing a large part of preparation for a grueling 82-game season.
