Los Angeles Lakers rising star rookie power forward Kyle Kuzma has certainly surpassed many people's expectation this season as the No. 27 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. However, he now stands alone amongst all rookies in NBA history to accomplish a very impressive feat.

According to a tweet this afternoon from ClutchPoints' own Dan Duangdao via Lakers PR, Kuzma became the first rookie in NBA history to record at least 1,000 points, 400 rebounds, and 130 made three-pointers in his first season.

Despite the heartbreaking 92-91 loss to the Miami Heat last night at Staples Center, Kuzma opened up about his rookie three-pointer record and even took to Twitter to post about how much the honor meant to him.

“It’s pretty special anytime you have any record, but especially with the Lakers,” Kuzma said to Duangdao after last night's game. “It’s also pretty cool just the simple fact that everybody said I couldn’t shoot.”

In 67 games (28 starts) this season for Los Angeles, Kuzma is currently averaging a very solid 15.4 points on 44.7 percent shooting from the floor, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 30.2 minutes played per contest.

Kuzma will look to add to his already-impressive rookie campaign when the Lakers (31-38) try to snap a two-game skid tomorrow night. They will play their first game of a four-game road trip on Sunday night against the Indiana Pacers (40-29), who head into today as the No. 3 seed in a tight Eastern Conference playoff race.

The Lakers will still be without Kuzma's teammate in rising star forward Brandon Ingram for at least their game against Indiana due to his groin strain. Fortunately, head coach Luke Walton says he will travel with the team and wouldn't be surprised if Ingram is cleared to play at some point during the road trip.
