Kyle Kuzma says he's motivated to prove the Los Angeles Lakers organization made the right move by not including him in the Anthony Davis trade.

Kuzma was the lone youngster on the Lakers to survive the Davis trade, as Los Angeles traded Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Kuzma says it “motivated him” to not be included in the AD trade because it showed the Lakers really believe in his potential.

“It motivates me. To have an organization that kinda trusts you and believes in you, for me that just motivates me even more to get it done for the organization because they think highly of me,” Kuzma told Cari Champion of ESPN. “So for me, I'm ready for it all.”

Kyle Kuzma will likely be the third option on offense for the Lakers behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The 24-year-old averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists this past season while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lakers' projected starting lineup for next season is LeBron, Danny Green, Kuzma, Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. The Lakers will have to battle the Clippers, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz for Western Conference supremacy.
