Kyle Kuzma has made quite a name for himself as a rookie out of Utah for the Los Angeles Lakers this season, but he is concerned that his mom is stealing a bit of his thunder.

After a Lakers fan tweeted out about being only a slight distance away from Karri Kuzma, Kyle's mom told her not to be afraid and say hello next time.

The rookie forward, however, wasn't having any of it:

His mom clapped back though and told him to worry about it and that she wasn't stealing any of the “thunder” that he has earned.

For Kuzma this year, he had made a lot of thunder with the Lakers and has really given the team another good piece to build around. Kuzma was taken with the 27th pick in last year's draft by the Brooklyn Nets and then was traded to the Lakers as a project guy that the team could try to build.

With the Lakers being such a young team, they decided to use him right away and he has thrived in the role thus far. Kuzma has played in 72 games, starting 32 of those, and has averaged 30.8 minutes per outing. He is also putting up 15.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from the deep.

The Lakers have been eliminated from the playoffs, but that is what people expected from this team this year. The biggest key for the Lakers has been to get their young guys growing for the future, and Kuzma has been one of the guys that have done a really good job of that.
