After beating the Oklahoma City Thunder by 25 points on Thursday at the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Lakers will embark on a three-game road trip ahead of the All-Star break. The first game of this road trip will be played against the Dallas Mavericks with two new players added to the roster in Isaiah Thomas and Channing Frye.

With the trade between the Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers completed, Thomas and Frye will join the team when they take on the Mavs this weekend. Rookie forward Kyle Kuzma was asked what he knows about Thomas following the win over Oklahoma City on Thursday.

“I know a lot,” Kuzma said of Thomas. “He’s one of the best players in the league. Last year, he averaged 30, he’s a killer. I’ve talked to him from time to time, so it’s going to be cool that he’s a teammate.”

Julius Randle also chimed in on the team's trade and his two new teammates.

“They both bring something really good that we need,” Randle said. “We’re obviously really excited to get those guys here & have them contribute to what we’re already doing. It’s going to be good.”

The Lakers are coming off their fourth straight win and eighth straight victory on their home floor. The team continued to play at a high level on Thursday night despite the trade taking two of their best players out of the lineup with Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Although the team seems to be hitting their stride ahead of the All-Star break, it remains to be seen what kind of impact Thomas and Frye will have when they join the team on Saturday in Dallas. Both players are seasoned veterans who are no strangers to being traded, but whether they'll fit in seamlessly without affecting the chemistry, only time will tell.
