Last week's NBA trade deadline was a major shakeup for quite a few teams in the league, one of them being the Los Angeles Lakers. For Lakers rookie forward Kyle Kuzma, he is excited to have both newly-acquired star point guard Isaiah Thomas and rookie point guard Lonzo Ball share the court.

According to a tweet by ESPNLosAngeles on Monday, Kuzma opened up about what he thought both of them working together brings to the Lakers going forward.

“I.T. scores the ball and Zo passes it, so I mean, it sounds pretty good to me,” Kuzma said on Monday.

After acquiring Thomas, power forward Channing Frye and a 2018 first-round draft pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Larry Nance Jr., many people have pondered how well Thomas and Ball will play together once the 20-year-old returns from a sprained MCL injury.

Ball has missed the Lakers' last 13 games and isn't expected to suit up until after the All-Star Break. However, Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka notes that when the Thomas trade was a possibility, the front office simply had to take advantage of the opportunity.

Via another tweet from ESPNLosAngeles:

“This trade wasn’t about us being able to get any particular one player. It’s not that at all. It was about us being able to have just this tremendous flexibility that when the right opportunities come our way, we're positioned to take advantage of them,” Pelinka said of the acquisition of Thomas.

The Lakers, who are back to practicing in Los Angeles for the next couple of days after falling to 23-32 on the regular season, will head to The Big Easy on Wednesday to take on the Anthony Davis-powered New Orleans Pelicans (30-26) on Valentine's Day at Smoothie King Center and there will be no love lost between both teams on that night.
