LOS ANGELES – As a result of the impressive win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers are officially playoff-bound for the first time since the 2012-13 NBA season. Although everyone on this Lakers squad is ecstatic about punching their ticket to the postseason, it meant a little more for forward Kyle Kuzma, who has gone through some drastic highs and lows with the storied franchise since being drafted by the team back in 2017. Kuzma talked about the team clinching a playoff spot after the game.

“Super excited,” Kuzma said of making the playoffs. “I've been here for three years, and my first two years were kind of rough. A lot of L's and a lot of development. Our organization has done a great job of bringing Anthony in and some other guys to allow us to compete for the playoffs, so it's exciting.”

Along with the Lakers finally ending the longest playoff drought in franchise history, the team made quite an impression in front of their fans at the Staples Center on Friday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his red-hot Bucks may own the best record in the NBA right now, but they weren't the best team on the floor on this night.

Kuzma admitted that the win over Milwaukee was significant.

“It's more significant for sure,” Kuzma on beating the Bucks. “They handed us our worst loss of the season, and for us to come back and, at full strength, beat them, it was a big game for us.”

With the win over the Bucks in the books, the Lakers will turn their attention to another highly-anticipated matchup against the L.A. Clippers on Sunday. LeBron James and company haven't been able to get the best of Kawhi Leonard's squad this season. Still, they'll have an ideal opportunity to do just that and make quite a statement being two of the league's elite teams in consecutive games.
