Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma didn't mince his words when asked about the possible social media backlash his team is facing after dropping Game 3 against the Miami Heat on Sunday. The 25-year old released some of his frustration after the game and said that he isn't going to pay attention to all the social media nonsense.
“I don't give a f*ck. I don't care. Twitter is for jokes.” Kuzma said after the game (per Marc J. Spears of ESPN).
For what it's worth, Kuzma has 1 million followers on his Twitter account and is fairly active in the social media game.
You could understand the frustration though from Kuzma as his 19 points off the bench couldn't help his team in Game 3. He also shot 50 percent (4-8) from deep and was relatively active in all of his 23 minutes off the bench. Unfortunately for Kuz and the Lakers, the Heat responded to every run they put out which ultimately gave them their first loss of the series.
The Heat seemed hungrier from tip-off as they took an early lead and clearly made sure to out-effort the Lakers down the stretch. It also didn't help LA that they shot themselves in the foot on Sunday with 19 turnovers. LeBron James accounted for 8 of those TOs.
But, per Kuzma, all is not lost for his Lakers squad. They simply just have to respond.
“We got to respond. I like our chances with who we have on the team.” he added.
To Kuzma's point, the Lakers just lost by 11 with Anthony Davis having a sub-par performance. With James inevitably trimming down his errors as the series goes on and AD bound for a huge bounce-back game, LA's chances of bringing back the trophy to Hollywood are still looking good.
