After spending almost a year together, Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma continues to get nuggets of wisdom from assistant coach Jason Kidd last season. Kuzma shared that the former NBA vet told him that the regular season is merely a period of preparation for the postseason, which will ultimately pave the way for them to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy, per Mike Trudell.

In the first year of the partnership between LeBron James and Anthony Davis last season, head coach Frank Vogel needed to make a lot of adjustments in order to make a stacked roster live up to its potential. They encountered some tough stretches during their regular season campaign but they still managed to snag the top seed in the Western Conference with a 52-19 record.

The Lakers eventually marched to the postseason and dispatched their opponents in the Western Conference bracket. LeBron James and his team ultimately reached the 2020 NBA Finals where they cruised to a 4-2 series victory over the Miami Heat.

After losing a handful of key pieces from their championship roster, the team needed more time to develop their chemistry with their new players upon entering the 2020-21 season. Vogel continues to experiment with several lineups on the floor to see which combination would best complement James and Davis' style of play.

Through their first 20 games, the Lakers are holding a 14-6 record to nab the third spot in the tight Western Conference race. They are currently riding a two-game losing skid highlighted by Anthony Davis' decreased production but Jason Kidd still believes that the team will eventually figure it out and that the best is yet to come for the Purple and Gold.
