The Los Angeles Lakers have lost nine straight games. The young squad led by rookies Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma have hit a tough stretch in which nothing seems to be going right even with the team back at full strength.

Kuzma, who has been arguably the team's best player this season, has been struggling as of late and is coming off one of his worst performances of the season against the lowly Charlotte Hornets. The rookie forward talked about his struggles after the 14-point loss to Dwight Howard and company.

“I just think it's in my head right now. I'm thinking a little bit too much. I just need to get back to playing hard. Not really playing that hard right now. Playing like garbage. Something I need to address and fix.”

The Utah product went 2-for-14 from the floor on Friday night at the Staples Center finishing with almost as many personal fouls (3) as points (4). Although Kuzma was getting to his spots at times during the game, the shots weren't falling leading to the team's leading scorer having a forgettable night.

Along with Kuzma having a forgettable performance, the team has a whole didn't do much better. The Lakers were turning the ball over left and right with sloppy passing and chemistry that seems to have disappeared completely.

Kuzma talked about the lack of effort and how the team needs to getting back to paying attention to detail.

“Effort level,” Kuzma said. “I don't think we're giving enough effort to win right now as a team in general. We have slip-ups offensively and defensively. We just need to pay more attention to detail to the game.”

With this loss to the Hornets, Los Angeles falls to 11-27 on the year and are in desperate need of a win moving forward. Kuzma and this young squad will try again to snap the ugly skid on Sunday when they play host to another struggling team in the Atlanta Hawks.
