Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is all for the Black Lives Matter movement, but he made it clear that people still have a lot of misconceptions about it.

Sitting down with Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony on his YouTube Live show “What's In Your Glass,” the 24-year-old third-year player said that others still buy into the notion that it's the police department's fault.

“Out there, it's a lot of good cops, too. You've got to look at both spectrums, but there's a lot of racist people out there that are in cop uniforms and for me, I think, it's more so about the system than it is the actual departments,” the Lakers youngster eloquently explained.

Raised in a small town in Flint, Michigan, Kyle Kuzma also lauded how the city of Los Angeles has come together to stand up against police brutality and systemic racism in the United States.

“Being in a city like LA where the demographic is – it's all over the place. It's such a diverse town, so you're able to really see how unified, not only this city is, but you get a glimpse of how unified our country is from a standpoint of what's right and what's wrong,” Kuzma added.

Kuzma's voice certainly helps contribute to the cause, as more and more players are using their platform to demand societal change. A lot of NBA superstars even took it to the streets to peacefully protest against racial injustice.

Carmelo Anthony, meanwhile, has also been another key figure for the NBA in the wake of George Floyd's unjust killing.

“We are going to continue fighting and continue fighting for that change and doing what we gotta do,” Melo told the Lakers' rising star.
