Already establishing himself as one of the best rookies in a class filled with a handful of potential stars, Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma is still well-infused with the drive to be better.

The former Utah Ute standout admitted that he's aiming to be among the league's hardest workers, according to Jack Jensen of SLAM.

“I really want to be one of the hardest workers in the NBA… I think that’s really important. You know, everybody wants to be the best but doesn’t necessarily put in the work. [Kevin Durant] or whoever else is at the top may be more talented or more skilled, but I want to outwork guys.”

Though he still has miles to go, there's no denying that Kuzma is on that path. He has pretty much breezed through the first few challenges — rising in the Lakers' depth chart as a late first-round pick and earning the coaching staff's trust — he's now working on maintaining his place on the team.

All signs are pointing to having a great future, especially now that Kuzma has more opportunities to shine, as two guys that he had shared shots and minutes with in Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. have both been traded. Also, the key player that the team got for those two — explosive guard Isaiah Thomas — can help him get more looks and less attention from the defense.

With 54 games under his belt, Kuzma is averaging 15.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. His overall scoring currently ranks him first in the Lakers and third among all rookies.
