A lot has changed over the past year for Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma. From being an unpopular figure within the Lakers fan base, Kuz has now grown into his role as a key role player for the defending champs.

Kyle Kuzma himself opened up about how his life has changed significantly over what was a tumultuous past 12 months, and it is clear that the 25-year-old is now in a good place:

“A lot has happened to me,” Kyle Kuzma said, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation. “I got a little bit more money. I got a championship ring. I got a girlfriend. Got two dogs. I did a lot of growing up this year.”

Kyle Kuzma received a ton of criticism — including some from his own fanbase — for the dip in his production during the 2019-20 season. The nay-sayers were quick to overlook/ignore the fact that a generational talent in Anthony Davis took over Kuzma's starting gig in L.A. and this had a significant impact on the latter's reduced role for the team.

Nevertheless, in December, Kyle Kuzma signed a three-year extension with the Lakers worth $40 million. It was a clear indication that he continues to feature heavily in the team's future plans.

This was, of course, after Kyle Kuzma played a crucial role for L.A. in their 2020 championship run.

Kuzma has also found significant success in his life outside the realm of basketball. He's been in what now seems like a pretty serious relationship with supermodel Winnie Harlow. Could wedding bells be forthcoming?

Whatever the case may be, life's good for Kuz right now. The Lakers might not be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Western Conference Playoffs, but they are still the NBA title favorite without question. Kyle Kuzma has a place on this roster and will have a chance to pursue back-to-back titles. That will do.
